Ready for your summer vacation but not sure what skincare items to pack? I sat down with my fellow skin care experts to compile THE list on which we unanimously agree;
THE SUMMER SKINCARE ESSENTIALS to keep in your purse at all times.

Defend your skin with hydrating and quick-absorbing SPF
If you have followed me for some time, you know using a good sunscreen is a no-brainer for me. It is a must-have, year-round skin essential regardless of the town, country, or continent you’re on. Being out in the sun, and traveling the world, makes its use more necessary.
Choose a lightweight (also read hydrating), fast-absorbing sunscreen, preferably with a combination of chemical and physical filters like the GRx® Dual Defense Formula. The lighter and easier it is to reapply, the more you will lean towards using it and protecting your skin without the effort.

Look for a serum that primes, plumps, and soothes the skin
A good serum will make your skincare routine stick a long way! It’s always a good idea to keep a serum that contains ingredients like Niacinamide or Hyaluronic Acid to give the skin a fresh plumpness, and hydration. Plus, it also acts as a primer/ base for your additional skincare products or makeup to stick on. If you have sensitive/ prone to inflammation skin, soothing ingredients like Greent tea extracts, aloe, Centella, or Bambusa vulgaris leaf/stem extract are a great addition to the serum ingredients.
My recommendation: GRx® Wrinkle Free Serum
It targets all of the above concerns and feels great on the skin in summer.

Give your skin an instant lift & glow by using Oil-controlling/Skin-Brightening pads
When my skin feels humid and oilier, I refresh myself using the GRx® Triple Oil Control Pads. These exfoliating peel pads contain a combination of three hydroxy acids—lactic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid—with a botanically infused formula that helps calm the redness that comes with the heat. It leaves my skin instantly cleaner, clearer, and blemish-free.
If your trip is full of daytime activities, and you are worried it might increase the chances of hyperpigmentation, go for GRx® Skin Brightening Pads. When paired with SPF, these pads help combat sun damage, provide anti-oxidant protection, and maintain even skin tone over both the short and long term.

Deep Clean with Fruit Exfoliators or Clay masks
Carry a gentle exfoliating/ deep cleansing mask as part of your night routine on the trip. All the products/ makeup applied during the day for those perfect outdoor photos with the sun glistening, naturally send our skin’s oil production drive into a higher gear. Incorporating powerful cleansing ingredients like clay and charcoal in your skin care regimen at night may help prepare your skin better for the day. Ingredients like kaolin and charcoal are the perfect natural exfoliators for removing blackheads and whiteheads while absorbing grime and excess sebum from clogged pores. Activated charcoal purifies skin by removing toxins and dead skin cells for a visibly smoother and more refined finish.
Recommended: GRx® Detoxifying Charcoal Sulfur Mask

If Clay masks feel too intense for your skin type, try reaching for gentle exfoliators containing fruit extracts like Sugar Cane, Lemon Fruit, Apple, or Green Tea Extracts. They effectively remove surface debris and dead skin cells.
Recommended: GRx® Microdermabrasion Exfoliator

Make BFFs with your Face Mists
From sebum control and makeup setting mists to ones with a sheen, SPFs, and refreshing punches of fruit extracts, the stores have got them all. And you have to try if you still aren’t using one yet! A face mist is a great way to perk up summer skin. It can act as your sunblock refresher and a hydrator at the same time, without disrupting your makeup. Some even contain active ingredients to target specific skin concerns on the go.
My recommendation? Keep one on your person, round the clock- no matter where you are.

Before you pack your bag with these Skincare Essentials, here’s what you need to ask yourself.

How do I know this product is right for me?
Before you make the pick, it’s essential to understand your skin type and how it reacts to certain ingredients. For dry skin, choose hydration and nourishment. For oily, combination, or acne-prone skin, look for exfoliating AHAs or BHAs to reduce excessive sebum production and soothing ingredients. Above all else, invest in QUALITY SUNSCREEN to preserve all efforts aimed at your skin.

How do I layer my skincare?
The correct way to layer your skincare is to start with a cleanser and add your toner and serums before sealing everything in with a moisturizer. For oily skin, you can replace your moisturizer with your SPF only. The night routine makes room for heavier actives or retinols that repair and address your specific skin issues.
